How Can We "Go Green" in Video Productions? |
A
Green Screen Project for Factory Motor Parts:

FMP executives are
videotaped in our sound stage in front of a green screen.

The
foreground and middleground are created by the graphics department.

The
moving background is shot...

...and
composited with the graphic.

Then all the
layers are assembled to create the final video.

o
One of the Best Ways is to "Go Green Screen."
WE ALL REMEMBER HOW IT
USED TO BE...
Not that long ago, we all traveled freely to produce corporate
video. It was common to send corporate personnel and a video
production crew to remote locations. When the shoot was finished,
we completed the edit and created hundreds of DVDs. How things have
changed! Oh sure, there are times when out of town trips are
necessary. But with current economic conditions, the time involved,
plus the cost of travel, duplication and mailing just doesn’t cut it
anymore.
SO HOW
DO WE COMMUNICATE IN THIS ECONOMY?
One of the best ways is to “Go Green Screen”. By using Chromakey
technology, we can video tape your corporate executives in our sound
stage or even in their office, then electronically place them anywhere
in the world.
This is not new technology of course; we’ve been doing it for years.
But the process is very green by saving time, travel, and
expenses. In the last few months, we have electronically placed
subjects into periods of time (the 50’s, 70’s and the future), in a
Jeopardy set, and in front of various other electronic
backgrounds. There is a precise science to creating believable
Chromakey. Lighting, framing and the right equipment are critical
to complete the illusion. Properly executed, Chromakey techniques
can convince the viewer you were really there (even if you were not).
A green screen project need not be so elaborate, either. By utilizing realistic graphic backgrounds we can videotape busy executives quickly, then composite them in post-production. The backgrounds can be adjusted without a re-shoot, can be customized with company logos and can form a library for future productions.
WHAT
ABOUT DISTRIBUTION OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT?
Many of our clients are now distributing their videos on line.
That eliminates the cost of mass duplication & mailing and gives
viewers the freedom to watch on their own schedule. There are
lots of ways to do this. Videos posted to the web can be seen
via links in emails or broadcast through corporate intranets.
These messages can be delivered right to the desktop, laptop or
personal device of employees. Or, you can communicate
customer-focused messages through a host of viral sites like You Tube.
SO
GO GREEN!
We all know that now, more than ever, we need to
effectively
communicate our messages. Our very existence may depend on
it. So the next time you need to get your message out there in an
environmentally friendly, cost effective way, Go Green Screen.
